What govt programs do you think are just big wastes of money? I for one think the space program is one of the most ridiculous things ever. There are people starving and living in poverty on this planet! We're spending billions of dollars to thump our chests and say we can travel to outer space. What have we gained? How is this helping humanity???
Well I don't think that it is, because lord knows what we may find out there, and before its through, we may end up having some of earth on another planet or such [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
That being said, I think there are some programs we need to put a bit more control over (limits and such)
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
I just feel we need to take care of this planet before we go looking (for trouble or for joy) on another one.
Well I also think we need to take care of everybody who, in a lot of cases, are more than able to take care of themselves.

Don't get me wrong. I know a lot of people are in the position they are in because of their own laziness. But children can't be held responsible for being hungry. And a lot of the eldery can't help being homeless. Instead of sending one man or machine to space we could help THOUSANDS of people.
Too many scientific and medical advances to mention here were made from the space program and space travel. So before you put it down, do a little research.

I hope we never have to leave earth, we cant evacuate new orleans in time, so we damn sure wont be able to get everyone to another planet in time.

It just bothers me when everyday I go to work and visit with families that can barely feed and clothe their children. This includes families who work, but make too much for government aid and not enough to make it on their own beyond the poverty line. I guess it just bothers me to hear these extraordinary amounts of money being spent on programs that surely could be streamlined and run more cost efficient in order to help these families.
